Perpignan-Capbreton-Perpignan: “andata e ritorno” of a prestigious Double Bass Festival
On 3 April 2019 | 0 Comments

Gérard Massat, former professor at the Conservatoire de Perpignan, was the instigator of the first stages of Prades (1983 to 1985). In 1990, Bernard Salles, with his luthier friend Christian Nogaro, created the Capbreton Festival, which for 24 years attracted the world’s greatest names in the world of bass, and became a world reference. Back to live in Roussillon, Bernard Salles was eager to recreate these prestigious meetings, around an instrument as cosmopolitan as the double bass.

From 19-24 August 2019 in the Château du Parc Ducup in Perpignan (South of France), will take place the  “Rencontres Internationales de la Contrebasse en Roussillon” (RCR).

Artistic director: Bernard Salles

Honorary president:  Gérard Massat

Teachers involved: Thomas Martin, Giuseppe Ettorre, Lorraine Campet, Bernard Salles, Emmanuel Massat, Jean-Baptiste Salles, Marina Pacowski.

All musical styles, no age limit. The summer school will be organised around individual and group lessons, masterclasses and concerts. It is an opportunity for double bass players to work together, share their knowledge and develop their skills and musicality.

The registration form must be completed and returned by July 30, 2019.
