Enzo Ferraris, born in Rome to a family of musicians, began his musical studies at a very young age and received his early training in double bass at the A. Vivaldi Conservatory in Alessandria, finishing with the highest possible votes.

While holding a teaching position at the G. Verdi Conservatory in Milan, he published three method books with Ricordi Edition, and he is currently teaching at the G. Verdi Conservatory in Turin.
As a soloist, he has performed in many major repertoire for double bass in the most important places of Europe and North America.
In 1978 he left orchestra to dedicate himself entirely to conducting, carrying on an intense activity conducting the major opera and symphonic repertoire in Italy and abroad. Since 1983 he has been the principal conductor of the Chamber Orchestra of Turin. His repertoire, ranging from the baroque period through the nineteenth century, includes the major works of the greatest composers, particularly favoring Italian Opera and the operas by W.A. Mozart.
